Iċ-Ċentru tat-Traduzzjoni għall-Korpi tal-Unjoni Ewropea huwa aġenzija tal-Unjoni Ewropea. Stabbilit fil-Lussemburgu fl-1994, il-missjoni ewlenija tiegħu hija li jipprovdi servizzi ta’ traduzzjoni u servizzi lingwistiċi relatati lill-aġenziji deċentralizzati l-oħra tal-UE. Dan jista’ jgħin ukoll lil dawk l-istituzzjonijiet u l-korpi tal-UE li għandhom is-servizzi ta’ traduzzjoni tagħhom stess meta jkun hemm livelli massimi ta’ xogħol jew għal proġetti speċifiċi. B’kollox, iċ-Ċentru jittraduċi għal kważi 70 klijent. Fi tmiem l-2020, kellu total ta’ 220 membru tal-persunal, inklużi uffiċjali, aġenti temporanji u persunal b’kuntratt. GĦIDLI AKTAR

Translation Centre brings IATE3 to the Multilingualism EU Summer School 2026

Multilingualism EU Summer School 2026

The Multilingualism EU Summer School is a yearly event that brings together recent graduates in translation, interpreting and law from across Europe for an immersive introduction to the work of the EU institutions. Its aim is to give participants a concrete sense of how multilingualism functions in practice across the language services of the EU, through sessions devoted to areas such as editing for media services, translation of audit reports, interpreting in judicial settings and terminology, including the growing role of new technologies.

The Translation Centre held its 67th Management Board meeting online, marking the first meeting for the Centre’s new Acting Director, Mauro Bubnic, and for Ildikó Horváth, Deputy Director-General for Translation, in her new role as Representative of the European Commission to the Management Board. Members approved the Centre’s Consolidated Annual Activity Report for 2025, and discussed the preliminary draft budget for the coming year.

The Directorate-General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission has joined the Translation Centre’s portfolio of clients, bringing the total number of organisations served by the Centre to 78 and reinforcing the shared commitment to multilingual communication across the European Union.

Launch of the New IATE Release: A New Chapter in EU Terminology Management

The latest major release of IATE (Interactive Terminology for Europe) is now live, marking an important milestone for the EU’s interinstitutional terminology system. Managed by the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union (CdT) on behalf of its EU partners, IATE continues to serve as the central reference tool for reliable, high-quality multilingual terminology.
It supports translators, terminologists, administrators and the wider public in ensuring clarity and consistency across all EU languages.
