25 GADUS UZTICĪGI DAUDZVALODĪBAI

Eiropas Savienības iestāžu Tulkošanas centrs (turpmāk — “Centrs”) ir Eiropas Savienības (ES) aģentūra. Tas tika izveidots Luksemburgā 1994. gadā un tā galvenais uzdevums ir nodrošināt tulkošanas un ar to saistītus valodu pakalpojumus citām decentralizētajām ES aģentūrām. Tas var arī palīdzēt tām ES iestādēm un struktūrām, kurām ir savi tulkošanas dienesti, ja tām ir ļoti liela darba slodze vai saistībā ar konkrētiem projektiem. Kopumā Centrs tulko gandrīz 70 klientiem. 2020. gada beigās tajā bija pavisam 220 darbinieki, tostarp ierēdņi, pagaidu darbinieki un līgumdarbinieki. PASTĀSTIET MAN VAIRĀK

Meeting ELA’s national translation coordinators

Meeting ELA’s national translation coordinators

On 16 February, two representatives from the Centre met the European Labour Authority (ELA) and its national translation coordinators to review the functioning of the ELA Translation Facility. This Facility consists of a workflow that enables Member State authorities to create translation requests on the Centre’s Client Portal for texts complying with predefined eligibility criteria, and the ELA is able to validate these requests and control the budget consumption per Member State.

The Heads of EU Agencies met online on 9 February to review the Network’s achievements in 2022, discuss the priorities for 2023 and foster cooperation between the Agencies and with the EU institutions. The Centre’s Director, Ms Horváth, had the opportunity to present the Guidelines and template for EU Agencies’ multilingual policies, drafted last year by a working group of the Agencies’ Heads of Communication and Information Network (HCIN).

It is obvious that the Centre’s activities in 2022 have been influenced by the continuous post-pandemic, economic, social, energy and environmental crises that the world in general, and Europe in particular, have experienced in recent years and that amplified in 2022.
