The 2019 JIAMCATT (International Annual Meeting on CAT and Terminology Tools) conference was held in Luxembourg from 13 to 15 May, with the topic ‘The shape of things to come: how technology and innovation are transforming the language profession’. Representatives from the Translation Centre attended the event and took part in different working groups.
On 20 June, the Centre was pleased to host two representatives from the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), based in Vienna: Dorothee Reinfried, who is responsible for editing and different language versions (Communications and Events Unit), and Magdalena Bielecka, a translator. Around 40 staff members attended the half-day seminar, including translators from all language teams and terminologists.
The 2019 International Annual Meeting on Language Arrangements, Documentation and Publication (IAMLADP) was co-hosted by the European Parliament and the European Commission, with the support of the Council of the European Union and the Court of Justice of the European Union, in Brussels on 27-29 May 2019. Benoît Vitale (Acting Director) and Thierry Fontenelle (Head of the Translation Department) represented the Translation Centre at the meeting, which was attended by more than 180 participants from over 50 international organisations (IOs).
