Rytis Martikonis, hitherto Director-General of the European Commission's DG Translation (DGT) and Chairman of the Centre's Management Board, took up a new role as Director-General Chair of the Regulatory Scrutiny Board (RSB) on 1 March 2022.

Christos Ellinides has therefore stepped into his shoes as Acting Director-General and Chair of the Centre's Management Board until the appointment of a new DGT Director-General takes place. Up to now, he has been DGT's Deputy Director-General and member representing the Commission in the Centre's Management Board.

We would like to cordially thank Rytis Martikonis for his long-standing and fruitful chairmanship of the Centre's Management Board and for his continuous support as Director-General of the Centre's partner DG at the Commission, and we wish him every success in his new position. We would also like to warmly welcome Christos Ellinides in his new role as chair of the Centre's Management Board and very much look forward to collaborating with him.

The Centre's next Management Board meeting will take place on 24 March 2022.
