The Translation Centre is committed to providing a wide range of linguistic services to cater specifically to the unique needs of EU agencies. We are pleased to announce the recent addition of AMLA (the Anti-Money Laundering Authority and Countering the Financing of Terrorism) as our 77th client, which serves to reaffirm our expertise in supporting the highly complex and varied multilingual communication goals of our EU partners.
Our tailored workflows ensure that every agency we serve receives the right mix of resources and expertise to address their specific requirements. Our approach involves firstly ongoing communication with our clients to ensure we understand their needs perfectly. We then move to translating these needs into optimised language service delivery, customising our workflows and solutions where necessary, whilst still retaining efficiency and ease. Finally, we offer an after-sales service where we are able to respond and adjust to client feedback in real time.
Our added value lies in the combination of our in-depth understanding of EU-specific contexts and our extensive network of internal and external professionals. Our experienced linguistic and technical experts enable the Translation Centre to leverage and bring together the best of both AI-based technologies and human expertise.
AMLA was legally established on 26 June 2024 and opened its doors in Frankfurt during the first quarter of 2025. Its aim is to transform the anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) supervision in the EU and enhance cooperation among financial intelligence units (FIUs). AMLA will coordinate national authorities to ensure the correct and consistent application of EU rules is followed, and carry out direct and indirect supervision of financial sector and other entities.
As AMLA prepares to ramp up its activities by 2028, our partnership ensures that we can effectively support them in their mission to supervise high-risk sectors and enhance cross-border cooperation by providing accurate translations for communication with their myriad stakeholders.
Some examples of sectors that will fall under AMLA supervision include football, real estate, terrorism financing and high-value vehicles. You can find a short factsheet at the following link giving an overview of the goals of AMLA: Stronger EU rules to fight financial crime - European Commission
We look forward to starting our partnership with AMLA, being able to assist them in their critical activities and adapting to their language needs in an agile and forward-looking manner underpinned by our motto: human expertise powered by AI.
