UŽ VIAC AKO 25 ROKOV V SLUŽBÁCH VIACJAZYČNOSTI

Prekladateľské stredisko pre orgány Európskej únie je agentúra Európskej únie a bolo zriadené v Luxemburgu v roku 1994. Jeho hlavným poslaním je poskytovať preklady a súvisiace jazykové služby ostatným decentralizovaným agentúram EÚ. Iným inštitúciám a orgánom EÚ, ktoré majú vlastné prekladateľské útvary, vypomáha v prípade vysokej pracovnej záťaže alebo pri osobitných projektoch. Prekladateľské stredisko poskytuje služby viac ako 70 klientom. Ku koncu roku 2020 tu pracovalo celkovo 220 zamestnancov, a to úradníkov, dočasných zamestnancov a zmluvných zamestnancov. One of the Translating Europe Workshops (TEW) took place on 25 October, and was jointly organised by the European Commission and the University of Granada. This year’s theme was 'Translation nowadays and beyond: technological challenges and diversification of an ever-evolving profession'.

The Workshop covered topics ranging from translation specialisations and language technology to accessibility, and provided a comprehensive overview of the current state and future prospects of translation practices.

International Plain Language Day was established on 13 October by the founders of the Plain Language Association International (PLAIN), with the aim of increasing public awareness of the importance of plain language in effective communication.
